Burger Day 4 in Chicago: High Brow, Low Brow, and Delicious

If ever in Philly give me a shout, would love to do this.
Or anyone else for that matter.
Awesome write up.

Checkers Prime Rib Burger

I just had it and it was blah. The looks weren't as bad as I expected but the onions were too large and crunchy. The beef was dried and the prime rib was more like a tasteless slice of roast beef. I had to try it but was sorely disappointed.

For a Great Burger in Philadelphia, Head to Village Whiskey

my excerpt from my blog

After much talk on the Philly blogs about this place I had to try it.
I ordered take out from here. The seating is so minimal.
There are 7 tables inside and so close to each other.
The burger was listed on the menu for $9 and they asked if I wanted cheese.
Of course I do. Well thats where I went wrong.
They charge $3 for a chintzy slice of f@#king CHEESE.
Come on, it's a cheese slice, not a block of cheese.
I felt SO violated and anally raped.
At least the meat was very tasty, but a bit spoiled for the
thought of the over priced $12 burger I was ingesting.
I really loved the bun, soft and held together nicely.

The fresh cut fries were very well cooked and perfectly seasoned.
It had been perfectly salted and "parsleyfied".

I am very glad I did not eat inside and I finally tried it,
but I won't recommend it for the sheer robbery for what you get.
Shame on you mister Iron Chef "the cheese rapist".
