Eating out in SoHo, NYC
how about ghenet, or 8 mile creek? i love ruby's down the block but it might be a tight squeeze!

chocolate-orange pudding, i love infusing the milk with the orange rind!
my stellar roommate got me a le creuset :D
and my mother got me the "southeast asian specialties" cookbook--apparently it's out of print and she had to special order it. this excites me because my friend just told me about a fab store in brooklyn that sells all the hard-to-find ingredients...
what did i give? i've cooked christmas eve and christmas day dinners, and sent a box of homemade marrons glaces and chocolate peppermint bark cookies to a couple of friends around the country.
i think the only recipe i've attempted in its entirety is almond macaroons (tasty!). i always refer to her recipes when developing my own though (ragu & potpie), they're good springboards.
nice and pliant with some rose red crunch around the edges.
bacon-wrapped scallops, or a BLT with a fried egg and avocado....
i like to apply my same standards to bacon as i would to a great oatmeal cookie--not too thick, nor too thin, crisp and golden at the edges, with a tender and chewy center.
We have a winner!
And it's ... MCHOW. Someone from Serious Eats will be contacting you shortly for shipping info.
Thanks to everyone who commented, and tune in again tomorrow and Friday for the final two Chocolate Library giveaways.
I love ALL things chocolate, but my favorite would be chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and chopped reeses cups!! Delicious!
chocolate mousse is a favorite but I love all chocolate recipes
I make a chocolate bundt cake that has rum, coffee and sour cream in it, and I top it with a chocolate ganache glaze. It is rich and extremely chocolatey...YUM!
