Chicago Essential: Giordano's

I don't know where they came up with the Easter story. I live in Chicago, and have never heard that one before. Ginos has been open since 1943. In my opinion, the best is Pequods or Berts, but they are off the usual tourist area.

The controversy isn't about Nancy's and Giordano's. It's about Uno and Giordano's. The person who opened Giordano's worked at Unos and says he invented the recipe while at Unos, and opened his own restuarant using that recipe.

San Antonio: How to Make Puffy Tacos

They are different than Fry Bread or Navajo Tacos Those are thicker, almost a Pita. Puffy Tacos thickness of a regular tortilla, but with air pockets. You can use store bought tortillas in a pinch but that won't puff as much.Always my first stop when in Austin. Pretty easy to make at home.

Woodmans in Wisconsin. Warehouse type store that carries everything you can think of. All the food I remember from growing up that I can't find anywhere else. The microbrew selection alone is worth the 90 minute drive from Chicago.
