Leg of lamb with an olive oil garlic rub and lots of fresh rosemary, just simply roasted with yukon potatoes to soak up the juices. Lamb is best done simply, it doesn't need much to make it shine.

A vegetarian friend of mine took me to an Indian lunch buffet and I fell in love with Indian food. I now make it at least once a week. I make little mini buffets at home and everyone loves it. I would love to further my menu and this book would help a whole lot.

Best: Candy apple pie with a perfect crust. I haven't been able to recreate it in the last twenty years.

Disaster: Lemon meringue, to this day, 30 years later, I still have no idea what happened to the beautiful meringue that I had on my pie. It shriveled up into a blob about the size of a small thick cookie.

Needless to say I make other things instead of pie. Just a little too hard for me, that's why I'm not a bakery owner.

Knowlwood's in Anaheim, CA is my first and most lasting memory of a great hamburger. Plain cheeseburger with all the condiments.

As I've grown my tastes now include more variety in my choice of toppings, but I still remember my first burger as the best burger.
