Using Kefir-Your ideas?
Help! My doctor has advised me to have two 8oz servings of (unflavored) Kefir a day. Besides adding it to my morning smoothie, I am at a loss for ways to incorporate kefir into my diet.

Earlier this evening, I treated myself (or so I thought) to a piece of Newman's Own (as in Paul Newman) Butter Toffee Crunch. While I like Newman's efforts and contributions to charity--and even his acting--I was not impressed with this chocolate bar. What do you think about Newman's Own chocolate? Is there one you would recommend--or is the packaging better than the product. Is Newman's Own chocolate just plain old chocolate?
I am in search of a Mediterranean cookbook for a birthday present to my cousin...nothing too difficult, but a cookbook that is creative! So my dear Serious Eats readers, I ask you--any suggestions?
Having spent the day making both large and small pound cakes for gifts, I end the day wondering, is sifting flour really necessary? What difference does it make in the texture of the final product? So I ask, dear Serous Eats readers, do you sift or not, and if so, why?

Here in the Midwest, squash is aplenty and I am picking up 50lbs of acorn/butternut squash later this week. What's your favorite squash recipe? Besides soup, what else have you made with squash?
I brought my aunt from Chicago to NYC this weekend and because of a NYT article about red velvet cake, we spent 25 minutes standing in line today to taste a Magnolia cupcake. I want to know--was this a waste of time? Are magnolia cupcakes really THAT good?
