@AndroidUser How do you make those pretzels? They look amazing. I've played around with several different Bavarian pretzel recipes and dipping them in lye, but none of them look as beautiful as yours!

Pizzeria Bianco - Recent Experiences?

Hi Adam: the last few times I've been there in the evenings I've always gone when they open the doors at 5. The first time was on my birthday with just my husband. It was a Tuesday night, we went after work, arrived at 5, but didn't get seated until almost 8 pm. This was several years ago, mind you.

The other time I had actually made a reservation (which they take for parties of 6 or more, and usually at least a few weeks in advance). This was a Thursday night. Our reservation was at 5 and the 6th person in our party didn't arrive until 5:05 pm. If she had been late by more than another minute, we would have lost our reservation and there were more than enough people willing to take our table. By the time we got seated, I was so uptight, but fortunately was able to unwind by the time the pizzas arrived.

With regard to the 8 pm arrival strategy, I would be careful, because once the doors open at 5, people just put their name on a seating list then go straight to the bar in the bldg next door. It's hard to just how long the wait is even though there aren't a whole lot of people waiting outside the pizzeria itself. Esp if apizza82 is there for the weekend, I would stick with my first Sat lunch recommendation.

Pizzeria Bianco - Recent Experiences?

I went to Bianco's over the summer on a Saturday for lunch. They open doors at 11, so I got there around 10:45. No one else was there. By the time they opened, I would say at least 3/4ths of the tables were full. By 11:30, all the tables were full.

I went to the Science museum (which is next to Bianco's) a couple of weeks ago on a Wednesday around 2-3 pm it looked like there were a couple of parties waiting for a table....

Not sure what the wait is during the evenings or other weekday lunches, but Sat lunch is a good bet if you don't want to wait. Even better to get there a few minutes before they open.

French in a Flash: Sweet Onion and Goat Cheese Tarts with Thyme

I just tried this recipe tonight. Am making some hors d'oeuvres for a friend's wedding reception and thought they would be perfect, but wanted to try them beforehand. And they were perfect! Fast, easy and so delicious! Everyone tonight loved them.

@dmcavanagh: I like to the hearth temperature around 800 deg F. For just my family, I'll preheat for about an hour, but for a larger party, will heat it for at least 90 min. Pizzas generally take 2 minutes to cook...

@gaffer: Forno Bravo is in northern Cal. I think the Primavera series was designed and built in the US.
