Pizza Obsessives: Colin 'Slice Harvester,' On a Quest to Eat at Every Pizza Joint in NYC

Who Sells Your Favorite Croissants in New York?

Has to be Almondine! Their Almond croissant is almost life changing with it's flakey, buttery goodness!

Snapshots from New York Brewfest 2010

I agree as well. Getting in the hour early was great but then it became too chaotic. I felt like I was at a frat party gone bad. I loved the event but probably won't return because of how crowded it got.

The Art of the Lunch Deal: Aldea

Funny- you chose the exact opposite three dishes than me when I went. Good to know that you enjoyed them since I thought my three were fantastic as well. I'm so worried they will raise the price of lunch soon. It's such a great deal.

Restaurant Week: Your Recommendations, Your Warnings

Every year I try to go somewhere new and have had pretty great meals albeit once. This year I went to Aureole for lunch and had a fantastic meal with a wonderful entree and dessert (pics and full review below). I think that it is a good deal for lunch but not always for dinner. Now a lot of places have cheap lunch options all the time. You have to seek out what's really going to be worth the price tag and have a place that embraces it service wise.

L.A. Burdick: Manhattan Gets a Superior Chocolate Shop

This place is about 4 blocks from my aparment now. I've been in at least a dozen times since they opened and tried all the chocolates and coffee drinks. I've been eyeing that lemon cake for a while now...looks like I gotta give it a shot tonight!

The Dessert Files: Pastries from The Breslin at Stumptown

Yum! A beet cupcake! I swear I never used to like beets but I think they are growing on me. I'm checking that out immediately.

Stuck at JFK? Good Eats in Terminal 5

Ate the fried chicken at 5ive Steak Burger over Thanksgiving at T5 and it was amazing! It came with this awesome marmalade sauce and was a pretty huge portion. It might even be better than the Redheads...might.

In lunch wasteland hell

I have to work in that area once in a while as well. Usually I go to Uncle Nick's for some souvlaki or over to Nook for an awesome grilled vegetable sandwich. BTW I spend half of my work week at 34th street and 10th avenue...talk about a culinary wasteland- at least you have some options.
Good Luck.

Forward to the Past: New Sliders from White Diamond in New Jersey and Mark in NYC

Nick and NYCFoodguy,

Just a heads up about another slider possibility in the area. I was at Dempsy's bar the other night and got some amazing good sliders there. Maybe they blew me away since I wasn't expecting much but they were a perfect size, juicy and cooked probably the best medium rare I have ever had on a slider. Just another option nearby in the East Village.

Resto's Heavenly Trappist Grand Redux Dinner

Wow! I am very surprised they were pouring the Westy 12! That beer is almost impossible to come by and very expensive. I was luckly enough to score two bottles a few months ago. Just as you said- having a Chimay after the westy (or any beer by that matter) just will fall flat. The Westy has such an intense, complex yet smooth flavor it is truly one of the best beers ever.

I've been to Resto a bunch of times for but never for a beer dinner. Thanks- I will keep in on my list now to check out.
