My husband hates salmon patties, and I crave them - so whenever I find myself home alone, I pull out a small can of canned salmon, add in egg, cracker crumbs, mayo and some seasoning and fry in butter. YUM.

Maryland's Official Dessert Could Be the Smith Island Cake

???? Smith Island Cake - really???? My husband's family has been making this cake for decades. I have actually inherited the pans. They are round cake pans, just 1/4 inch tall. I have 10 pans, but to stay with tradition only 8 cake layers are used. I understood that the recipe was adapted from a dobish torte recipe from Austria or Hungary.
