What do you think is the best at home ice cream maker?
I am thinking of buying one and would love recommendations.

I love salad, but think some store bought dressings can stumble when it comes to flavor. I tend to end up with multiple bottles of dressing that I try once and never use again. What are your favorites?
After trying out a couple of disappointing pepper mills (oxo and vic firth), and reading countless reviews of other pepper mills, I am wondering what the readers and folks at Serious Eats think are the best quality pepper mills on the market?
Yes! Ham steaks (or minute steaks) with mac and cheese from a box. I despised those dinners. That's probably why I stopped eating red meat at the age of 12.
Madeleine's on 9th ave and 30th something has a nice indoor garden room in case it rains, but it is very pretty and the food is quite good. Also, La Petite Cafe in Carrol Gardens offers a similar room with lots of garden sculptures, etc.
I think Chestnut on Smith Street is just wonderful. They never fail to be delicious and the service is wonderful. They have a nice little outdoor garden too. Also, Frankies on Court is quite nice as well.
That's adorable! Most cookies sans chocolate chips should mail well. I would vote for peanut butter for a boy favorite + mini m&ms in there and you should be all set.
I have heard good things about Epicurean: http://www.theepicureanrestaurant.com/
I love grilling fennel in balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
I like My Husband Cooks: http://myhusbandcooks.wordpress.com/
the buzzer of a timer when some kind of delicious good is finished baking.
Chocolate cake with chocolate icing and Jewish coffee cake are amongst my faves. I'm with french tart--there are too many delicious options. Strawberry shortcake, carrot cake, burned butter....
Hey folks,
Long for Milk Delivery no more. Home delivery has arrived, again, in Manhattan: http:\\www.manhattanmilk.com
Ok, so where on LI did you end up booking the shower? I am also looking into similar places for an event! Thanks...
thanks for all your help....after all my research we decided to have it on Long Island. Good to have spots for future parties!!
Chili. Love it now, but found it revolting as a kid. Especially my mother's version with too many tomatoes and kidney beans.
Stuffed peppers. Soggy, slimy, bitter. Bleck. Although, I was willing to eat part of the hamburger/rice filling that wasn't touching the peppers.
Round steak. Cooked to well-done in a frying pan with only salt and pepper. I used to chew it up and spit it into my napkin. Until I got caught. Then the long lecture about how EXPENSIVE meat is! Round steak??? Expensive? Well, money was tight in those days, but still...
The best place to have a shower is Alice's Tea Cup - I threw my cousin's shower there and it was great! The 64th street off Lexington Ave location has a liquor license so we were able to have champagne and cocktails and the decor is charming and comfortable. Also, 64th is the largest location they have so it could accomodate our party of 43. Great food. Don't know the number so I suggest going on to the website for info: www.alicesteacup.com
The sound of the dishwasher, followed by the pop of a wine bottle opening. That means the kitchen is clean and we're ready to go outside and relax on the deck by the lake.
I love the sound of ice tinkering in a glass, the sound sauce makes as you pour it over a hot stir fry, and the perfect sound of a really sharp knife chopping vegetables on an old wooden chopping block.

thanks to PETA, i can now hear live crawfish screaming as they are dropped into boiling seasoned water. when the potatoes, corn and mushrooms join in, it is a wonderful sound.
I agree with Livingtoeat: The soft bubbling of a pasta sauce that's been simmering all day.
Onions sizzling in a pan. The sound as they first hit the hot oil--wow! Of course, it could be the smell that aids the sense of hearing. ANything sizzling sounds good to me--such a great onomatopoetic word!
