Soda Pop Stop: One-Stop Shopping for 450 Different Sodas

I'm still looking for someplace to ship any form of diet ginger beer. Since I stopped drinking anything with calories (except for skim milk), ginger beer is sorely missed.

My perfect breakfast is oatmeal made with skim milk, banana....and 24 ounces of Diet Mt. Dew.

Dinner Tonight: Turnip 'Risotto'

This looks interesting. I do agree - the amount of oil looks way excessive. I would try to cut it down. Because isn't the important part of risotto the absorption of the broth?

Also try POPS, over 500 kinds of soda and they deliver FedEx.

I'm not a big soda fan, but my bf loves Rubicon sodas. His birthday is coming up, and I'm on the search to find him some in NYC.

It's not so old but I loved Big Red soda as a kid. I could never figure out what the flavor was supposed to be ...

in spain we drank fanta limon all the time, especially in "cerveza con limon," basically half beer/half lemon soda. kind of like a shandy i guess?

but i can't find it ANYWHERE on this continent and i am so bummed, it instantly reminds me of summer when i have one.

I love rose-flavored soda. I also love rose-lime flavored soda. I make it myself with rose syrup, "bubble water" and fresh lime.

I would buy it pre-made in a heartbeat, especially if a diet version were available.

nice catch, I live nearby Galco's and it's the greatest soda shop in the world (in my opinion). I used to go there weekly and fill up on sodas but I realized I was on a high-road to diabetes at that rate. I switched to beer anyways.

One of my favorite sodas at Galco's is the original recipe Dr. Pepper. It's slightly medicinal, easier on the carbonation, but much more intense in flavor than the commercial grade stuff.

capndesign, Sprecher really is fantastic. I'm still stuck in Madison, but I'll ask my Sconnie friends in NYC if they've got any leads. I'll let you know.

I am a root beer nut and I'm disappointed that no one serves Sprecher or Weinhardt's in NYC.

As an aside, I'd love to find somewhere in NYC that has this kind of selection. I'd love to order, but shipping prices kill you. Anyone have any good leads?

@HeartofGlass - Thanks for mentioning aspartame! Artificial sweeteners, while they may be noncaloric, do foster sweets cravings the same way that refined sugar does, so diet sodas can actually encourage overeating. And there's that little bit about aspartame being a neurotoxin...

I do take exception with the smoothies comment - when they're made with no added sugar, they can be an excellent breakfast food for the times of year when fresh fruit isn't readily available. Frozen fruit is not very palatable thawed and eaten, but it's perfect for a smoothie.
