Goldfish crackers. Easily.
See, I'd usually agree - with the exception of Frederic Mallo's Pinot Gris. Not only does it have a stork on it, AND a baby, it also has the most horrible font of all time (Matisse) - yet it is extremely delicious.
Aw yeah, dirty chips are the BEST. They are my kryptonite - not allowed in the apartment, to be used for emergencies only.
I *do* live near the Hewes stop; I've never been to Greenhouse though, thanks for the tip! Mexico 2000 is the best.
I think I must be the only one that really likes little browned bits of egg.. I much prefer the mouthfeel of fast hot egg scrambles, but everyone else seems to love these creamy ones!
Chocolate espresso cookies!
Homesick Texan did a "more natural" version a while back: http://homesicktexan.blogspot.com/2008/04/more-natural-chile-con-queso.html I haven't tried it, but it looks pretty good!
Dirty chips - all varieties, but the plain old salt and pepper is my favorite.
I've been making it from the guide on David Lebovitz's site: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/archives/2009/11/how_to_make_french_vinaigrette.html and it's always delicious. I think letting it sit for a while does mellow the flavors a bit.
Oof, that's pretty rough. It's good that it's a problem that's becoming more widely known, however, and restaurants are more prepared to handle people who can't eat gluten. I've wondered if my boyfriend has either a very, very low grade celiac problem or at least a wheat allergy, because if he eats a lot of pasta or bread over a period of time he feels generally bad - not the sort of intense intestinal distress that celiacs report, but just bad all over - it's odd.
Tamari sauce sounds great though, I'll have to pick some up!
I've had the Chicken Katsu sandwich at Tebaya and I spent most of the time eating it muttering "oh my god" so I'm glad to see it on the list.
A cucumber and cheese sandwich on a pretzel roll (read the nytimes article about pretzels earlier today)!
I always thought I would make an awesome bear because I could totally live on nuts and berries. I put them in salads, stir fry, throw some into my lunchbox almost every day. My favorites are pistachios, which are no longer allowed in my apartment as there is no moderation possible for me when it comes to those!
