Please, tell us where you're from...

I live in the Virgin Islands where it might take stops at 4 markets to get ingredients to make one good meal! Most everything is shipped in which tells you about the freshness factor. So, where's the first place I head when I visit the States? Whole Foods, Central Market, any other supermarket!!! Oh, and Mexican and Chinese restaurants. Oh, and a good bakery!!!

I'm also amazed at the sky-high prices of gruyere in local stores! Probably the most expensive cheese they carry!! Anyone have a guess as to why this is so?

Poll: Food Terms You Should Stop Using in 2010

"Slow Food" as in slow food nation. We went their big event in Sam Fran and the only thing that was slow were humongous lines. They sold too many tickets, not enough workers. Never again!

Go to Balthazar - always great food and French Bistro atmosphere. Hustle, bustle - and servers are very nice too.
