Video: Brooklyn's Illegal Urban Beekeepers
oh please.
these guys aren't beekeepers. Anyone who has ever kept a hive can see in a second that those guys have had that hive for a few weeks at most. My father is a beekeeper in Brooklyn who has been doing it for about 10 years, and I showed him this video. He rolled his eyes and went to do something more productive than watching a couple self-satisfied hipsters wax philosophical about a passtime they know nothing about.
Tourists, Shutterbugs Barred from Tokyo's Tsukiji Market
Hmm. This is actually a non-story. They are only banning tourists from the early early tuna auction (4-6 AM) - and the funny part is that tourists were ALREADY banned from that. The only change seems to be that you won't be able to sneak in like you could before. The main market remains open to the public. Worry not, foodie-photographers.

Good write-up, but from someone who has lived here for all of my 28 years, there are a few omissions.
1. Bakery: Caputos on Court and Sackett
2. Best Fresh Mozarella in the United States: Caputos on Court between 3rd and 4th Place
3. Unsung Burger Place: Two Eight Two on Atlantic between Boerum and Smith
4. Pancakes that redefine indulgent: Cafe Luluc on Smith and Butler
+1 to Brucie and Los Paisanos, both are amazing and crucial to the neighborhood's eating scene.
