@redbox We as parents do pay for our girls activities and all the supplies that are needed for the craft projects. As well as donate out time and effort to their troops. The money raised by the sale of cookies from our daughters troop goes to local charities, this year the Ronald McDonald House and a local organization that supports women in crisis. In addition our daughters troop donated 144 boxes of cookies to the local Boys and Girls club and also sent a box of cookies to our nephews Army platoon. These girls are working hard and learning a valuable lesson about giving back to the community, clearly many adults today could learn a lesson from their efforts. Maybe next time instead of grudgingly coughing up 5 bucks you could engage the girls and ask about what they are doing and where the proceeds are going.

I made a marinated beef tenderloin over the weekend and the marinade consisted of 2 liters Dr. Pepper, soy sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, and 1 1/2 cups lemon juice. This seemed like alot of lemon juice and it did turn the outside of the meat brown like a acid will do, but it turned out great, very tender and flavorful. I've seen alot of marinades with acid but this seemed like alot, does anybody have any insight on why so much lemon with the Dr. Pepper. Just FYI we can do this with whole tenderloins because we can get them locally for 3.99-4.99 per pound.
O'Boisies are back. I read thru some reader comments the other day that expressed their love of O'Boisies chips. Well, the snack food that spelled th name of our fair city is back. Here is a link to the article, maybe anybody interested can get some shipped to them. http://www.idahostatesman.com/newsupdates/story/762588.html
My deep fryer died and I'm looking for recommendations for a replacement. I'm hoping to get something with a 3 liter or more capacity and good recovery time.
