Best Mexican food in LA ?

If you want the best street taco experience- you have to wait until about 10 pm, drive just west of downtown to Beaudry and 2nd and go to the little stand set up in the old parking lot. This is Kike's (pronouced Keekay) and they seriously make the best asada, pollo, lengua, buche, cabeza, or birra tacos you can find (also- tacos are $1 bargain!). This spot is mostly locals and bike messengers, and appears kind of rough- but its safe and everyone is super-nice. They stay open until about 3 a.m. and there are always people eating at the fold-out tables. They have a salsa table with amazing peppers and different salsas- try all of them. My fav. tacos are the pollo and the asada.

If you want the greasy spoon style mexican food- I love El Cholo and El Campadre.

Loteria (the Hollywood location) is not to be missed for nopalitos and jalapeno margaritas.

Loteria grill for sure! I love the nopalitos. Mmmm! Close second is the Korean food stand and the vegetarian bowl.
