recipe for oak leaf cookies sold by bauers bakery in NY in '50s
these were an almond paste or marzipan(i know i'm being redundant) cookie base in the shape of a oak leaf with a knockout bitter sweet chocolate covering. i've not been able to find out anything about the recipe, because i haven't tried in earnest till now that i'm retired, or the demise of the bakery chain. i did lunch at tony's italien restaurant (at the time the only 4 star restaurant west of the miss.) in st. louis in the late 80's and they did offer a very similar tasting cookie in the shape of a oak leaf, but not quite the same as the original. would love any help in this quest AND the winner will receive a box of the cookies when the recipe is verified....how's that???thank you very much.
