Barbegue slang
While visiting with family we were discussing barbeques and I remembered another name for them but couldn't think of it at the time- wouldn't you know- it finally dawned on me. Had anyone ever heard of taverns for the word barbeques instead?// And if this isn't the word-what word am I thinking of other then sloppy joes??
found out the answer- the question i was getting at was that there were other definitions for sloppy joes, loose meat, barbeques, and the answer was taverns. its another slang word for the above description of sandwitches. a tavern is a sandwich commonly consumed in the midwest region of the US specifically in Iowa.
