Both Reeds' varieties are my favorite, but I had to try Regatta, since it's brewed right near my house. It's not as spicy as Reeds, so it might be good for a first-time ginger beer drinker.

The best time I had cooking seafood was in my dorm kitchen. We pan seared tuna with sauteed onions, ginger, and liberal splashes of plum wine, while taking swigs all the while. The outside was beautifully seared and the inside was still nearly raw. Delicious.

Actually, the bar is called Mile Squared. Their burgers (and sandwiches in general) are kind of hit or miss really. I've been lucky mostly, but some days they just aren't great. They have a pretty decent beer selection too.
