Cook the Book: 'How to Roast a Lamb'

Lamb stew. Based on the comments above, however, lamb burgers might have the potential of being a new favorite if I can find the right recipe for preparing them well.

Cook the Book: 'New Classic Family Dinners'

Mom's homemade shrimp creole night is a big family favorite year-round, followed by Mom's holiday time cookie bake-a-thon. Yum!

Cook the Book: 'The Pioneer Woman Cooks'

Much too difficult to narrow the list to one, but, other than SE, some that I visit include chow.com, culinate.com, cookerati.com and slashfood.com

Cook the Book: The Southern Italian Table

Angel hair pasta with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper would be my choice. Adding cheese would be optional.

Cook the Book: 'The Craft of Baking'

For me, it's a tie between my mom's homemade peach pie and her homemade cookies from scratch.

Cook the Book: 'Big Bob Gibson's BBQ Book'

While I do not have a favorite, it's fun to try new BBQ places while exploring during vacations to the South & Southeast U.S.

Cook the Book: 'Canal House Cooking, Vol. 1'

I look forward to all of the fresh summer fruits and vegetables used in recipes, not the making of one specific dish in particular.

Cook the Book: 'Bobby Flay's Burgers, Fries & Shakes'

If I'm not at home and making hamburgers from scratch, In-N-Out Burgers are great, especially with their available off-menu options.

Cook the Book: 'L.A.'s Original Farmers Market Cookbook'

The fresh cherry sellers at the farmers' markets in Northern California in summertime are great!

Cook the Book: 'Modern Spice'

Learning how to cook Indian cuisine -- both Southern (no meat) and Northern (with meat) -- like people in India do. Most Indian restaurants here just don't offer food that captures that same wonderful taste experience.

I like variations on the non-traditional pizza & toppings, too -- e.g., spinach, Hawaiian, etc. However, I'd also like to try what shellockjohn suggested above -- fig, gorgonzola, and arugula on a thin crust made in a wood burning oven. Sounds tasty!

I do not have one particular favorite way of preparing seafood, but I do prefer the fish to be the the taste focus of the dish, with the other ingredients solely accenting and/or highlighting the fish. When recipes' other ingredients overpower and/or hide the seafood, the resulting dish is often disappointing.

Cook the Book: 'Simple Fresh Southern'

I have made my great grandmother's carrot and zucchini o-shaped loaf for my in-laws for the past three years. I surround the loaf with and put in the middle tons of roasted broccoli - definitely a crowd pleaser, as it goes fantastic with the turkey and mashed potatoes and all the other classic sides!

Mashed potatos and gravy, just not Thanksgiving without this side.

Impossible to have just one, so the two would be cornbread dressing and Emmitt Smith's Sweet Potatoe Casserole.

Stuffing, stuffing, stuffing. Love stuffing. Unless you count pie as a side.

My favorite "side" is the nut bread that my mother used to make for her entire married life. She found the recipe in a newspaper in 1948. It is chock-full of walnuts! Thanks!
