Location: Brooklyn, NY

About: Food=awesome. I spend waaay too much money on it, but hey. Gotta have passions, right? When I'm not eating, I'm usually writing about television or strolling around Manhattan...uh, looking for new places to eat.

Favorite foods: Bagels. Eggplant. Chocolate chip cookies. Red bell peppers. Pretty much any type of sandwich. Exotic bread. Hummus. Tomatoes. Also, I could eat Mexican food every day and never get sick of it, ever.

Last bite on earth: An everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. And some really exquisite, rich, decadent chocolate.

rod dee is fantastic too, i ALSO lived around the corner from there, heh. but even better than rod dee is a thai place on harvard ave in brookline, headed toward allston. i forget the name, but it's near all the kosher/judaica shops on that stretch of the avenue. adorably decorated inside, as well.

i looove king & i! when i went to emerson, my dorm was at the corner of beacon & arlington, and my frends and i hit up that place ALL the time, the pad thai really is amazing.

we were poor college kids so we'd often go dumpster diving at upper crust on charles as well because they'd put out perfectly good pizzas at the end of the night, but i'm glad you didn't put it out there as one of the best, i always thought their pies were overrated.

also, some of the best sandwiches? dave's fresh pasta in davis square in somerville. i drool remembering those babies. fantastic. and given the name of the place, their homemade pasta and pasta sauces are truly amazing.

growing up in md, i swear it was practically sacrilege to not like old bay (which I don't). i will make one exception though - on french fries, it's delicious.

Sweet Ticket Giveaway, Week 2: What's Your Favorite Childhood Dessert Memory?

when i was a kid, there was a bakery near my grandparents house in dc that made this cheesecake covered in slices of almonds, kiwis, strawberries and mandarin oranges. sounds so weird, but it was delicious. my family's favorite cake - we'd literally get it for everyone's birthday (except mine, actually, because i always demanded chocolate, heh). the place knew us! they'd always write out whoever's bday it was in chocolate that hardened in the center of the cake, and then my sister and i would fight over who got the chocolate pieces. i believe it closed down eventually, but i'd love to have it again...

There's Nothing Fab About Prefab, Premade Drink Mixes

a mojito is probably my favorite drink, and it is so easy to tell when it comes from a mix, because a freshly made one is infinitely better. it bugs the hell out of me when bars use a mix! if i'm paying $8 or $9 for a drink, you damn well better have crushed that mint instead of pouring me some mint-flavored liquid.

Love Old Bay in everything. It's great in macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and as a seasoning on microwave potato chips. Also great in twice stuffed bakers.

I "invent" almost every time I cook. I often change, modify, or re-arrange recipes depending on what I have available - (waste not want not). Thank you for the opportunity to win!

Well, my 'recipe' is more of a combination of things, but my DH and I find it rather yummy. It's 'name' is called (sorry folks, so not appetizing) "Fartblossoms!" LOL

I make a recipe of Manwich Bold with ground beef. Then I mix it with a couple of cans of pork and beans or baked beans, a little molasses, a little Worcestershire sauce and a little Coleman's dry mustard, some Hormel bacon bits. Cook on the stove or in a crockpot til it is nice and thick. Serve with Frito Scoops.

I originally came up with the recipe when I had leftover Manwich and leftover baked beans and I mixed them together.

This is also my much-requested Baked Bean recipe...when I carry it to potlucks or picnics, I use my antique bean pot as a serving vessel.

Yummy Yummy...It is SO good!

I am not much of an inventor, but I do like to play with recipes, and add spices and hot sauce to almost everything. Thanks for the contest.
