Nana's Pickled Pears

Thank you...there were a couple of recipes in the links you provided that sound like what I remember. I know it would have been simple almost farm food...I'm remembering this from 55-60 years ago. I don't believe there was a skin on the halved pears, and no seeds or stems. Could it have been that the pears were blanched and the skins slipped off ?

Nana's Pickled Pears

Does anyone have an old recipe for Pickled Pears. It was made with small, hard pears and after Nana made them we had to wait what seemed like a long time before the canning jar could be opened. We loved these with roast lamb. What kind of pear did she use...I don't think I see them at the grocery.
