Bottom Shelf Beer: Which Is The Best Superlight Beer?

you're missing a good one that isn't as well known (advertised). before miller 64 and bud 55 there was becks light (64 calories) and actually has some flavor. highly rec'd if you're going down that route...and doesn't make you look like you're a health nut.

3 Great Eastern North Carolina Barbecue Joints: Grady's, B's, Wilber's

i literally just ate at wilbers yesterday right about now on my way home from the beach to baltimore.

really enjoyed it and now am going to have to get down there again soon to try out gradys. sounds great.

A Sandwich a Day: Cuban Sandwich from Puerto Sagua Restaurant in Miami Beach, FL

i stopped by here while in miami the last time and can attest that this place, which looks like nothing special, is just that...amazingly special. i still dream about this sandwich. like the post said, nothing crazy, but so good.

Pizza Protips: Troubleshooting Dough

does the first tip about spraying water on the dough also apply to pasta dough? i was making thomas kellers pasta recipe (7-yolks) the other day and it got too dry to roll out and kept breaking up. had to throw it all out and make grilled cheese. not fun.

thanks.

New Orleans: Head to Coop's Place for Po' Boy Burgers

when me and my girlfriend went to NOLA last time we got flooded out of our original dinner plans (jackamos) so when we finally made it back to the quarter we went to the bar at Muriels to recollect ourselves.

when we asked the local bartenders where to go to get a good local jambalaya, i was surprised they recommended Coops.

after going there and having their jamby with rabbbit, sausage, shrimp and tasso ham and a side of fried chicken...well lets just say i haven't gotten it out of my mind. nice to know they have a good burger, but i'll be hard pressed not to order their Supreme Jambalaya.

crap, now i'm gonna have to start looking for flights.

A Sandwich a Day: Smoked Meat at Schwartz's Montreal Hebrew Delicatessen

couple years ago me and my girlfriend went to montreal and one day tried schwartz's and the next reubens downtown (a recommendation from our B&B host). while reubens was tasty, there was something special about schwartz's...damn, so good. not to mention it's two blocks from our favorite poutine joint: patati patata

Homemade Hot Sauce: Pairing Habanero with Fruits

apropos that you posted on this since just this saturday while on a trip to boulder a group of us had a great habanero/apricot salsa at this place called centro and it was the highlight of the meal. i could eat a bowl of that stuff myself without any concern about the inevitable destruction that is bound to ensue later.

36 Hours in New Orleans: The Budget Edition

absolutely agree on Coops. jambalaya (make sure you get the supreme with the tasso cajun ham) and chicken were great and have been thinking about it ever since i got back to baltimore.

Baltimore: Iggies

love it! i've been going to iggie's since they first opened and have nothing but love for the place. everyone is so nice there (if you respect what they're trying to do...or as i say, "get it") and beyond just the great pizza have gone above and beyond in trying to fit everyone in on busy nights, get you ice to keep your beer cold, etc.

couldn't recommend it enough. Also, highly recommend the 2008 pizza of the year, "Cipolla". One word: Pancetta. *drooool*

Cook the Book: 'My Bread'

i cooked a nice whole wheat loaf last night, but didn't let it raise enough so it wasn't as airy as i would like, but it still did the trick of helping soak up the nice broth in my cioppino
