I totally get excited about all the unique food options when I go out of town, and I try to partake when I can. I definitely make a concerted effort to maximize my exercise time when I'm out though, which can range from lots of walking to going to the hotel gym to running around to take in the city.

That is such a cute idea, and I bet your tart was DELICIOUS! If I were one of the invited potluck people, though, I would be pretty incredulous/intimidated by such a challenging/creative theme. Perhaps there were also people, like me, who don't really like ginger to begin with. That said, I would have at least brought something even if it didn't match the theme. Don't worry, it will be ok!
