The small city I live in only has Harris Teeter, Food Lion (quite a few of them) and a Wal-Mart.

There's a TJ's and Whole Foods within about 30 miles. I do nearly all of my shopping at Harris Teeter.

Pretty sure this is my third or so identical response to a question like this: My cast iron. I bought my first cast iron skillet when I was 14 or so and have used it almost daily for the 12 years since.

Three Burgers in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania: Stewed, Screwed and Lassoed

Last time I was in Bethlehem, I had a pretty tasty burger (medium-rare, iirc) at Bethlehem Brew Works. Their beer is top notch, too!

Review: Father's Office

I realize this post is nearly 5 years old, but... This is the most whiny and useless post I've ever read on Serious Eats. I'm glad that Nick Solares reviewed the Office Burger here, even though I disagree that the burger doesn't really count as one.

What Was Your Biggest Thanksgiving Victory?

I installed a smoke box on my grill and smoked the (unbrined!) turkey. I had never operated a smoker before and it came out absolutely perfect.

Today I made a stock using the carcass and uncooked back (I butterflied to reduce cooking time), then made turkey noodle soup with part of the stock. The smoked parts of the carcass imparted an awesome smoky flavor to the stock and soup.
