The unglazed quarry tiles I have found at Home Depot are manufactured by Daltile and are made in the USA. In any case, the traditional worry of lead in ceramic products is related to the glaze, and since these are unglazed, it's not an issue.

But hey, enjoy your $50 pizza stone, I'm sure it works great. In the meantime, I'm happy with the enormous mass of two racks of double layered quarry tiles that cost $5.98

Pizza Is Minnesota Nice at Red's Savoy

Longtime reader, first time poster. I grew up in Murderapolis (now living in the surprisingly decent pizza town of Missoula, MT) and I find it hilarious that bravian would boycott for an offhand comment by someone who is drinking the hard stuff in the afternoon. I laughed.

Anyways, I was back over Thanksgiving and we went to Punch in Wayzata. It was terrible. I was heartbroken after reading about it for years. Limp crust, greasy, and overly salty. It was truly a sad day.
