I made chocolate pretzels with Dorie's chocolate roll-out cookie recipe and it didn't work. They tasted great, but they didn't maintain their round, pretzel-y shape -- they just got all flat and cookie-like. I think there's a catch-22 here: more floury=more shapely but also more bland. I know it's past holiday gifting time, but I haven't given up! I'm going to try them again tonight with a different recipe and I'll post an update on my blog: www.notderbypie.blogspot.com.
