Sneak Preview: Handsome Coffee Roasters, Los Angeles

I ordered a bag of their San Antonio Huista last november.
I used it in my french press, I was unimpressed. the beans didn't look evenly roasted and the flavor wasn't interesting at all.

since I'm not much of a coffee snob I assume I'm doing it wrong.

what is the sandwich in the picture?
am I missing the obvious link that tells me what it is or which story it is a part of?

Cook the Book: 'The Sriracha Cookbook'

Mark Bittman turned me on to Sriracha+Peanut Butter as a condiment, it is amazing on rice or even in oatmeal.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Zingerman's Praise the Lard Gift Box

Benton's Bacon from the Zingerman's Deli has changed my life, numerous times.

My greatest pork memory, though, was the pork chop I had at Lolita, outside of cleveland. It was the most amazing hunk of porky butter. It seriously felt like I was eating delicious pork-flavored butter. incredible.

Cook the Book: 'Baked Explorations'

I suppose it would have to be Zingerman's Bakehouse here in ann arbor.
Or maybe Nantucket Baking Company in Grand rapids, I wish I could have sampled more there.

Cook Your Meat in a Beer Cooler: The World's Best (and Cheapest) Sous-Vide Hack

Do you sear afterwards? is it a very appealing looking bit of fish when you're done?
I built a sous vide rig from an old crock pot and I bought some frozen salmon from Trader Joes. I'm planning to throw it in the water bath, but I was just thinking about what to do before it hits the plate.
