The cranberry sauce with currants and champagne sounds super tasty.

Stuffing! I get to make it this year, too. I'm using cashews, bacon and sourdough bread. Mmmm!

From Recipes

Serious Chocolate: Easy Chocolate Pie Crust

I love using chocolate Teddy Graham cookies for crusts! Not too sweet and not too graham-y.

Cook the Book: 'New Classic Family Dinners'

My mom makes pot roast in the crock pot with onions and carrots, huge buttery yeast rolls and then mashed potatoes on the stove. We always like to pour tons of gravy over the pot roast made from the drippings, and my sister and I love dipping the roast in a little bit of A1 steak sauce (weird, I know) and it irritates my mother to no end, God love her.

Cook the Book: 'The Craft of Baking'

It's such an every day thing but when I was in Russia I had a huge blini with butter and cinnamon sugar and it was just the best dessert I've ever had. Simple and perfect.

Cook the Book: 'Gourmet Today'

My very first cookbook was the Junior Fannie Farmer Cookbook. I used to check it out from my elementary school's library because I loved the pictures so much. I still hope to find an old copy of it someday!

Potato Crisps from Luxirare

hey just a heads up - the link in the first sentence ("The problem with opening up food and fashion website Luxirare...") is misspelled and takes you to luxiare.com and not luxirare.com

Cook the Book: 'What We Eat When We Eat Alone'

Usually my dinners are pretty boring and sad affairs, even though I run a food blog. I save my time and money to make elaborate things for my website, so an average weeknight dinner for me is a wedge salad with blue cheese dressing, breakfast tacos, simple pasta with goat cheese, etc. All easy things with little cleanup.

Cook the Book: 'Canal House Cooking, Vol. 1'

Just a sliced heirloom tomato with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper. And maybe a drizzle of super awesome balsamic vinegar. Deeeelish!

Cook the Book: 'Mrs. Rowe's Little Book of Southern Pies'

I once spent $40 on super exotic ingredients for a quiche only to have the entire thing fail terribly because of using the wrong kind of pie dish.

From Serious Eats

Cook the Book: 'Bobby Flay's Burgers, Fries & Shakes'

medium rare chuck burger with american cheese, ketchup, yellow mustard, A1 steak sauce, caramelized onions and dill pickle slices. deeeeeeeeelish.

Impossible to have just one, so the two would be cornbread dressing and Emmitt Smith's Sweet Potatoe Casserole.

My favorite "side" is the nut bread that my mother used to make for her entire married life. She found the recipe in a newspaper in 1948. It is chock-full of walnuts! Thanks!
