Cereal Eats: Mexican vs. American Cereal Showdown

Not a sugar cereal fan (um, I make my own cereal from popper amaranth, HIPPIE)- but this was great.

I did have to cringe at the biggest box difference though- all of the American cereal boxes have health claims on them! Eeeesh.

Have You Heard of JoJos?

I'm from Juneau, AK and now live in Seattle and have been eating them since childhood! Fred Meyer seems like it was the usual source, but a lot of independent grocery stores have them too. LOVE them with ranch!

Ice Cream-Obsession Leads Critic-Turned-Cook To the Source at Werkhoven Dairy Farm

I LOVE Snoqualmie Gourmet and practically live off of their French Lavender. Great post- thanks for sharing! Does the dairy offer tours to the public? I'm in Seattle and I'd love to check it out.

Gadgets: Bodum French Press Travel Mug

I bought my BF one for some holiday or another and he doesn't use it every day, but does on weekends. He's the only coffee drinker and we don't have room for a maker or require a full sized press, so this has been a good option. He often just adds a tiny scoop of ice cream once it's brewed... cream and sugar that melts into it!

The Crisper Whisperer: 10 Tips to Take to the Farmers' Market

We often buy frozen meat with a broken seal (we go to the same farmer every week) if we plan on using it that day. We've always had great luck with this, and get a nice discount on top of it. We also look for the smaller stands, and almost always find better prices that way.

I've also lucked out at the end of the market and gotten an entire bag of leftover cheese samples, as well as apple slices. Great snack!

The only only only frozen pizza ever in our freezer is the margarita from Trader Joe's. Not sure of the brand name, but it's pretty straight up with no weird ingredients, and actually tastes like pizza.
