NYC Quintessential: John's Pizzeria of Bleecker Street
The first night I moved to NYC in the fall of 1981, I was taken first to John's Pizzeria ( there was a line around the block for it back then), then to CBGB's, then to the Kiev. Enough to convince anyone to stay for the next thirty years, wouldn't you say? But,but,.......ah, so you noticed that. Seize the day, kids. Seize the day.
Mix It Up: A Bitter Opportunity
We used a Christmas present of Fee Bros. Aztec Chocolate bitters to make our traditional New Year's Eve champagne cocktails a little less traditional. Amazingly good.

Lamb is my very favorite meat and it has always been my favorite, even as a child. While I'm eager to make sure that lamb producers stay in business - honestly I'm not too eager to have lamb become more popular, since as it stands, it's the meat that it least likely to be full of hormones and antibiotics and such, just because of the relatively small US market for it. I do wish it were easier to find mutton - I love it and rarely ever see it outside of halal markets.
