12 Brussels Sprout Dishes We Love in NYC

Yes, the Motorino speck/BS pie should be on this list!

I found the Kin Shop version disgusting. But then I found most everything there disgusting. And it's $12!

The Choko version with fish sauce and pickled peppers is a complete rip-off of the original Momofuku (Ssam?) version, but as this list shows there's only so many ways you can vary the preparation. And Choko is about half the price and just a few blocks away from Momofuku, so there's that.

In cooking Brussels sprouts I have found that roasting them does not vary flavor/texture that radically compared to frying them.

The only thing I have to add to this fascinating and horrifying comment thread is this: I love that an order of a neat bourbon and an Old Fashioned is causing people to go into paroxysms of hate about "hipster" "sugary" "fattening" "fancy" "pretentious" cocktails. You haters do realize, don't you, that "neat" means it's a straight shot of bourbon, and that an Old Fashioned (a) is about 300 years old (b) consists of bourbon, a sugar cube, a dash of bitters, and water? This is not a Carrie Bradshawtini with a Flaming Moe chaser, folks! (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

cg_ups, sadly I think that is the million-dollar question when discussing dining pretty much anywhere in Williamsburg.

Personally I do it based on the cost/value of the food you get for enduring the horror of unemployable art school dropout service. At $7 for a delicious, filling breakfast ($5 Banjo + $2 doughnut), I forgive the unfathomably incompetent staff. But I say you're a fool if you suffer these braindead nincompoops for a $7 sliver of average pie or a $13 plate of middling fried chicken.

Lunch for One: Birdbath Tribeca

They serve a version of the kale at City Bakery (which is related to Bird Bath correct?) -- kale, toasted chestnuts, grana padano, red onions, and the vinaigrette -- and it is by far the best thing they make. Mmmm

WTF Is Shake Shack's 'Giggles' Frozen Custard?

The counter folks explained that the name is a play on "Snickers," makes sense given the flavors.
