Phoenix, AZ Ethiopian Restaurants
You might try Cafe Lalibela. I've heard some good things about it, and it's about 10 minutes from the airport. Their hours and address are on their website: http://www.cafelalibela.com/
Enjoy your trip to Phoenix!
What's your favorite food when drunk?
Tacos with extra hot sauce. Oh yes.

Top Ten Ball Park Food/Snacks
@betteirene, no, I have not had the salmon sandwich at Safeco--I've not been back to Seattle in many years, and if it's baseball season the next time I go back, Safeco is my first stop.
You know, only a fist-rate grandparent would take a grandchild to an M's game! :) I hope you all have a blast--and let us know what you eat!
Top Ten Ball Park Food/Snacks
I have a soft spot for stadium nachos--I won't eat them anywhere else, but get me some chips with processed spicy cheese and I'm good to go. As long as there's beer.
Also, @betteirene, Safeco is awesome. Beautiful ballpark, good food. And, of course, my beloved M's!
What's for Dinner? 08/26
Pizza and a beer from the restaurant next to work. Sometimes I just need someone else to make dinner for me and today is one of those days.
For the laddies- Hottest Food Network Dude?
Michael Chiarello.
I want him in my kitchen.
Did I say that out loud just now?
When Is It Socially Acceptable to Share Food?
If it's family style, anything goes, of course. If we are all ordering our own food, I am happy to share, and always feel comfortable offering to share of my food, especially if it's really good!
But I don't want to share forks or anything. You bring your own flatware to my plate.
best pizza contest
That was a really incoherent comment. I'm sorry, it's been a long day.
best pizza contest
I heard a story on NPR this weekend that involved something like this. New York Magazine rankings mentioned when Weekend Edition had pizza day this past Saturday! Keste Pizza, Roberto Caporuscio?
http://www.npr.org/templates/transcript/transcript.php?storyId=111886870
What would be your last meal?
Cioppino, two crunchy tacos (one lengua, one chicken) from the taquería across the street, my mom's pound cake w/ macerated strawberries, and a growler of good beer.
Spring or fall?
Fall has the best seasonal beers, pumpkins, and my birthday: the trifecta of seasonal greatness.
What do you go "out" for?
Pizza and beer with my sweetie pie.
What would be your last beer?
Great Lakes Eliot Ness. Or Christmas Ale. I'd be happy with a Fin du Monde as well.
And tusti: ha!
Serious Eats Presents 'The Greenmarket: One Farmer's Story'
That was really nice!
Not digging the ad redirects
I got Zwinky yesterday and Classmates.com today. I'm also getting some pop ups.
Would You Go to a Chain Restaurant on a First Date?
This reminds me of one of my favorite Seinfeld moments:
Elaine: I met this lawyer, we went out to dinner, I had the lobster bisque, we went back to my place, yada yada yada, I never heard from him again.
Jerry: But you yada yada'd over the best part.
Elaine: No, I mentioned the bisque.
Vegan and Carnivores eating together
@joeqboo - I literally laughed out loud.
Photo of the Day: The Ultimate Breakfast Pancake
I like it in theory...but the whipped cream and fruit throws me for a loop. Leave off those top layers and I'm in.
What's Your Favorite Food Court Stop?
Orange Julius!! Wow haven't thought about them in years--when I was a young'n, I used to love the display of faux oranges under glass at the one in my local mall. I just Googled and found two of them near me...am I going to rock a Julius tomorrow? The answer is yes.
Serious Salsa: (Not Exactly) My Uncle's Salsa
Just made it, and it's delicious!
Eating Alone (In Restaurants)
I love eating alone, and also bring something to read. It's very relaxing for me. It's also nice because I'm a slow eater and I get to take my time without other people trying to hurry me along.
Only once have I encountered trouble with service, and it wasn't even really bad, just kind of funny--the hostess and servers at one restaurant were incredulous that I was actually by myself and not waiting for someone. And when I ordered my meal, another server brought it to my table split onto two plates and set the other one in the place opposite me. When I told him that I was alone, he said, "...What?"
Heh.
Do You Eat Radish Leaves?
There's a pretty lengthy chain on the forum about this topic...check that for some ideas. I started using my radish tops after I read that and the chocolate and zucchini post linked to above. I sauteed them with some red chili powder, lemon juice and potatoes. They have a slightly bitter taste with a peppery kick...and are apparently really healthy for you.
Do You Eat Radish Leaves?
i was looking for radish top recipes also, and i'm inspired by this talk thread to eat radishes with the bread i just baked, with sauteed radish tops on the side.
two vegetables for one, and healthy too!

I am secretly in love with Mark Bittman + I have a lot to cook for and so will likely be giving his "Favourite Bread Stuffing" a try. Don't tell him, but I might have to slip in some chestnuts as I just don't think it's true stuffing without them!

Pumpkin Cheesecake - we have been making this for years. Our Thanksgiving has developed into a major event that brings relatives great distances for the food and neighbors to see the annual lighting afire of the driveway when the oil overflows the deep fryer when the turkey is submerged
