No grains, beans, sugar, processed foods, etc. I try not to think of what I "can't" eat (can't is in quotation marks because this is a dietary choice I've made) but instead I think of the myriad meal possibilities I have with the foods I choose to eat!

New pizza rant thread!!

Not the best pizza I've ever had, but the one I'd "give my right arm" for....in my beloved Cleveland: Mama Santa's--cheap, tasty (though inconsistent) and within walking distance from university circle on a snowy day...the kind of day when you're broke and just want a warm meal and a glass of wine...it rules. Rock on, Mama's!

How do you prefer your burger?

Medium rare, cheese...something tangy but not moldy ;), sweet onion, tomato, cold iceberg lettuce, no bun. Maybe bacon. Maybe a few hot chiles. Good mustard. Pickles on the side. Sparkling water or iced tea to drink

What is the worst pizza you have ever eaten?

There was (maybe still is) a Domino's on the corner of E 116th and Euclid Ave in Cleveland that made what might have been the worst pizza in existence. I mean, this was pizza in name only. Doughy, spongy crust that had the pallor of a corpse. Gullet-clogging globs of blindingly white cheese. Toppings that bore resemblance to things that may have once been animal or vegetable. And all of this mess tasted like nothing. It was like eating a hot food item with textures that varied all the way from chewy to soggy. This pizza was despair in a box. But they took checks and delivered, and those things really come in handy when you've spent all your cash on beer, it's snowing outside, and the fridge is empty.

Web site problems in Chrome

I don't know if this is a Chrome layout issue, but I don't care for the ad that is located between the Talk topic and the thread. If it stays there, I'll have to run adblock on this site, which I'd hate to do. I don't mind seeing ads on sites that I frequent, as long as they don't interfere with my reading experience.

And I don't care about who Jorma Elo is, so please get rid of that stupid ad that asks me, or put it off to the side.

What discontinued foods do you miss?

When I was a kid, my favorite cereal (read: the only cereal I liked enough to eat with milk on it; all others were consumed dry) was S'mores Crunch. It was too expensive for my parents to buy regularly, but OMG did I love it. It disappeared whilst I was a kid, sadly.

I miss it in a nostalgic sense, but I'd never eat it again.
