Goodbye, Dumpling

I am so, so sorry to hear this news. I always showed my roommate the pictures of Dumpling that were put up on SE and we'd sit and awww over how precious Dumpling was. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

i only eat my crusts with ranch, but once in awhile if i'm feeling a little crazy, i'll dunk it in ranch.
now papa john's garlic butter stuff...it's so wrong but tastes so good at the same time. i slather that all over my pizza if i ever order out.

Beloved Texas-Based Chain Whataburger Makes a Fine Fast Food Burger

i have to say, whataburger makes a damn good burger for a fast food joint. the beef tastes good, they've got fresh veggies for toppings, and you can customize it any way you want. to me, it's a great texas burger. fries could be better, but they've also got great taquitos.

Poll: Do You Clean Your Plate?

i always eat everything on my plate- my parents came from one of the poorest countries and i have a serious case of first world guilt if i don't. i always pack up leftovers at restaurants and if i don't finish something i made, i always stick it in the fridge for later.

What Are the Must-Eats in Your City?

Austin...definitely Salt Lick and Iron Works BBQ. Hut's Hamburgers. Magnolia Cafe for pancakes. Uchi for some of the best sushi ever. Homeslice for the best pizza in the city. Tiff's Treats for cookies almost as good as your mom's. Torchy's (try the queso), La Mexicana, and Juan in a Million for your taco/breakfast taco needs but really, any tex-mex/mexican place in Texas is gonna hit the spot. If you're out on 6th, the Kebabilicious and Best Wurst trucks are a must. Fricano's Deli for some an amazing sandwich. Round Rock Donuts for a donut bigger than your head. And that's just the tip of the iceberg...

In Houston, any Chinese place off of Bellaire and any Indian place off of Hillcroft are gonna be good.

Unique Food Trends: Houston, Texas

haha this is great to see as a texan! and one from houston, too.
shipley's sausage/jalapeno kolaches are ALWAYS good. they're simple but incredibly satisfying. also- shipleys has the best donuts i've ever tasted in my life, hands down. their donuts are to die for. there are tons of great kolache places all over texas, just jump on I-10 or 290 and you're bound to run into a family owned kolache shop on the side of the highway.
and i think i know where to go for dinner on my birthday now- bryan caswell's restaurant.
