i can't say i'm a fan of bourdain either, but what he says about throwdown and bobby flay sounds pretty plausible.. flay got a lot of heat from food network fans because of his attitude in the iron chef battles against morimoto so it makes sense that they'd try to portray him as more humble and likeable now. i just don't see why a chef who clearly likes winning so much would agree to doing a show where he loses more often than not without an ulterior motive... but maybe that's just the cynicism talking! :)

would this recipe work if i halved the ingredients and made it in a 9x11 pan? just wondering, as i don't have a sheet pan.. should i change the amount of time it bakes for?

the first time i ever baked a cheesecake, i decided to make a caramel sauce to go along with it... i heated the sugar and butter in a pot, but when i added the cream, i didn't know it was supposed to add it slowly, so i poured it all in quickly... it made a loud hissing noise and exploded everywhere.. a very messy experience!
