Pumpkin spice cheesecake!!!
Cook the Book: 'Dishing Up Vermont'
Grits! And probably peaches, though they aren't my personal favorite... Georgia also has some excellent cheeses, like Vermont!
Who Likes Grape Soda?
SO DELICIOUS. Tastes like summer! Though I find nowadays I reach my grape-soda threshold much more quickly than I used to...

Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
Diet Pepsi?!?! What, is she trying to kill you? I'm sure her intentions were all the best, but still... Accept no substitutes! (I'm from Atlanta, can you tell?)
That aside, well done! Super impressive given your pizza adventures in Chicago. You're an inspiration every week!

Weird Food-Related Collections
i collect coke bottles from all over -- there are these kooky ones in Europe at the moment made of aluminum and they have different designs that correspond to songs you can download, so I have a few of those. But I also have a bunch of glass ones, among them an Obama inauguration bottle, one from my high school graduation year, and one from a Waffle House anniversary... which leads me to my truly weird food collection: I collect Waffle House paraphernalia of all sorts. I'm not really certain what started it, but when I discovered the odds and ends people put up on eBay I was hooked. I need to do an inventory, but I have enough WaHo stuff that when people come to my apartment they always ask about it (or are silently weirded out).
Has Anyone Had Sister Schubert's Rolls or Marshall's Biscuits?
I can confirm that Sister Schuberts rolls are indeed delicious, and have made more than a few appearances at my house when we have been entertaining. SO TASTY.

oooooh a grilled cheese concoction with prosciutto and cheese! nom nom.
Pancakes Mountain T-Shirt, Plus Other Pancake Outerwear
Y'all want to do a t-shirt roundup on pretzels? I came across a t-shirt online probably 5 years ago that said "Gemuetlichkeit ist [picture of delicious pretzel]" and have tried to find it when it pops into my head but never can... Maybe I'll try a waffle search too, as I'm more into waffles than pancakes. Great post though!
Blogwatch: Princess Cake
Oh man. I am like captain of the marzipan-hater team. On second thought, haters make me sad too... but marzipan deserves it. ICK.

I also was under the impression that the Depot had closed...
Cook the Book: 'Baking Unplugged'
I guess this was the recipe's fault, but a lovely spice cake prepared with oil shrunk to about half its size upon cooling. It still tasted good, it just looked like a shrinky-dink cake! Using applesauce instead helped the do-over cake plump up to normal dimensions.

Holiday Giveaway: Zingerman's Praise the Lard Gift Box
One of the best pork experiences I had (and shared) came in Germany when I was studying abroad. My ever resourceful mother managed to smuggle over a few packages of country ham so I could cook my international hallmates a true southern breakfast. They were particularly impressed with the salty deliciousness of country ham! Nothing beats it.
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
My cousin with two kids wouldn't of made through her pregnancies and breastfeeding without CFDC!
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
Yeah, but in my opinion Diet Coke tastes closer to Pepsi than Coca-Cola Classic. And Diet Pepsi tastes closer to Pepsi too (that's why they don't need to be making a "Pepsi Zero" since their original diet already tastes similar). So I wouldn't agree with posephus that she's trying to kill you, but people have their preferences and the placebo effect (if I can use it in this context) probably has a fair amount to do with tastes.
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
Oh gosh Ed. You're just like my parents! There were always cases of the stuff chilled in the garage when I was growing up.
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
Isn't the Caffeine-free Diet the new Coke: Zero?
Perhaps this is just in Canada.
As @emilydev suggests: I'd callem' up? Coke "company" contact
It's a shame you're not a Pepsi fan Ed! :D jk
keep up the great work
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
i was just in Japan and it appears that they don't even have Diet Coke anymore (used to be called Coke Lite there). They only have Coke Zero now, which was okay by me since I love that stuff.
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
CFDC is all I can find around here. I need to be off caffeine AND aspartame and for some things, only a coke will do. But I can only find the diet version around here. Here's hoping they keep up with both!
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
Surely Coca-Cola has a press office. Anyone tried calling them?
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
We don't have CFDC in Raleigh, NC either. I have looked for it at all the lovely conveniece stores around where I live, and nada. Even in the grocery stores I don't see it that much. Then again, the supermarkets seem to have different sodas in each one so that you have to shop at two or three stores to get what you really like. I drink bottled water mostly now.
I do drink coffee, but I really did like the taste of CFDC over Pepsi's product and this is the home of Pepsi. Go figure.
Oh and congarats on the weight loss. Pizza is a tough one and barbeque,
well, I am impressed.
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
Plenty of CFDC down here in Florida.
Fresca has always tasted funny to me.
Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 92: What Happened to Caffeine-Free Diet Coke?
A quick search shows that there are no news reports of CFDC's demise, so it's likely that it could be a glitch somewhere in the system, such as the distributor not getting adequate amounts, or formulation issues or something.
I really wish I had access to IRI data--I'd totally go in and check distribution trends in NYC for you!
