My boyfriend's buddy is quite the deep sea fisherman and he just gifted us with a giant slab of freshly caught tuna (caught yesterday!). I've never cooked tuna at home before and was looking for suggestions or recipe links for something simple and summery that will do this fresh fish justice.
When recipes say "sushi grade tuna" do they just mean that it should be wicked fresh? Or would it be unsafe for me to try my hand at making some tuna tartare or a spicy tuna salad with this catch?
Every single time my family gets together I am assigned to bring an appetizer. Every. Single. Time. I'm running out of inspiration and don't want to bring the same old same old. Fellow food nerds, your inspiration please. Something semi-healthy and Easter appropriate, please!
I'm cooking dinner for my boyfriend's birthday this weekend and I'm looking for a little menu inspiration. There may be about 10 to 15 of us in attendance. Here's my criteria: I want something delicious and satisfying but inexpensive for a crowd. There's one vegetarian and a few kiddos among us. I would ideally like something that I can (for the most part) make ahead of time, in order to maximize my face time with my guests. Help me fellow nerds. I want to make this meal a slam dunk.

I'm drooling here. And making a list of places to hit next time I'm down the Cape. Next time you should try Original Seafood in Dennis and stack it up next to Kreme and Kone. Word on the street is the original K&K owner sold the business, hated what they did with it and opened up Original not too far up Rte. 28. We always go to Original. The fried clams and onion rings are amazing, but also, their chowder is one of the best ever.
