I'd first go to New Mexico to sample some of the finer Green Chile Cheeseburgers, then head East to Texas to see what burger greatness and/or weirdness would await me. Then I would end my trip with an angiogram.

Dear AHT: Frozen Patty Recommendations

Only frozen patties I'll buy are the Kobe style patties made by Snake River Farms. They sell 1lb boxes (2 8oz patties), but I would think the main problem is that there aren't many places that carry them. There's one store in Brentwood CA that I get them from. YMMV.

Dear AHT: Val's Burgers in Hayward, California

I don't live near Val's (I'm 350 miles away in LA) but have been very happy the couple of times I stopped by. It's not THAT far off the 580 but I don't think public transportation is an option to get there. Burgers are juicy, cooked to order and a good value for what you get. Easily one of my favorites in the Bay Area ( along with Burgermeister and Burger Joint).
