Who Makes A Great Roast Beef Sandwich? A Butcher Named Schatzie, of Course

FYI- I was in Schatzie's today (3/20/08) and was informed that they are moving to the west side sometime after Easter/Passover.

The Roast Beef sandwich was phenomenal by the way, although a little puny for $7.50. Thanks for the recommendation Ed.

Coopertown Diner and Bamn Automat: The Most Average and Worst Burgers in New York City

CooperTown is the closest diner to my home, and automatically becomes my most often eaten burger. Here's the problem (with all the food in the diner actually): They cook EVERYTHING too fast a too high a temp. Omelettes, potatoes and toast arrive at your table 80 seconds after ordering. The toast is burned on one side, cold on the other. The omeletter is browned on the outside and runny inside. Home fries are BURNT on the bottom and white on top (ok, I actually like them that way). Same goes for the burgers. They cook them TOO FAST at too hight a temp. SThey once served me fried chicken that was nearly charred to a crips outside and frozen on the inside. Slow down a bit, and your food will instantly improve.
