Are Artichoke Basille's Sicilian Slices Shrinking?

Considering what a tasteless, sloppy mess Artichoke is you should be grateful they are dishing out smaller slices.

NY Steakhouse (not Keens or Lugers) Suggestions

Del Frisco's..are you kidding me? Mediocre food and service, typical chain food..I guess folks are dazzled by the room. For my money no steakhouse beats Ben Benson's. All the steakhouses have quality steaks but Benson's does everything else better then the rest.

My (Sort Of) First Taste of White Castle's Burgers

When in high school in the mid-70's a the night would often end with a trip to the Castle. The unfortunate one who decided to stay home would get his car "Casletlized".....we would break into the car and hide White Castles throughout..the seats, under the seats, dashboard, glove compartment..even on the antenna..you get the picture. The one burger under the sun visor got em everytime. Great fun and memories.

Aaah, lamb.... My favorite dish is from where I'm from, Macedonia, although I think most of the Balkan countries make it, and Turkey possibly too. It's called Elbasan Tava, (tava meaning pan), and it is roast leg of lamb, with a surrounding of a plain yogurt and egg mixture added toward the end of roasting. The eggy mixture bakes in the lamb juices and it is simply divine. I can't wait til spring when I can go home to eat some. And then eat some more.

I'm a fan of gyros myself, though I've never actually used lamb to cook them. Just this weekend I had a nice roast leg of lamb.

My favorite lamb recipes are the lamb shanks. I have gotten it at Casa Mono and at Tarry Lodge and they are both great.

We buy a whole lamb every year, so we do eat a lot. I love rack of lamb or grilled chops with lemon and oregano. Lamb stew is good. Braised shoulder chops. Gyros (I grind it and make it myself) are a great treat but a lot of work. Roast leg of lamb is great, too, followed by lamb sandwiches the next day.

Did I mention that we eat a lot of lamb?

I love Iskender Kebabs. They're a Turkish dish, lamb is roasted on a spit and sliced off very thinly then layered on a bed of toasted pita, tomato sauce, and yogurt. Sooooo good.
