Your Guided Tour of Staten Island's Mexican Treasures

I've been to "The Aztec Rooster Taco Maker" a bunch of times but haven't tried the others, though I've bought my share of avocados and tortillas on Victory Blvd. Because I look like a cop (though I only play one on TV), the questionable immigration status of many of the workers and patrons of these places makes for a rather tense experience for all involved. But for good, cheap food I'll do what it takes - thanks for a brave investigation of the unBorough!

FYI: A longish walk further up Bay Street brings one to Stapleton, a spooky, mixed neighborhood with a few very good, very cheap sit-down Mexican places and cool-looking though somewhat gringo-unfriendly cantinas. Staten Island haters should just stay home though - they're not worthy.

Nice Post. What does everyone think of Taqueria near the Clean Rite Laundry? Does it compare to the resturants above? I like the Sopes there.
