Fruit Cake & Eggnog

I never liked it either until our neighbors had us try their homemade eggnog. Like most other things, a good homemade version is better than anything you can possibly get pre-made in a grocery or even gourmet store. I posted the recipe at www.odetoeverythingfood.blogspot.com. Hope you will enjoy it too!

I thought the meat of the burger and the bun were terrific. It was juicy and flavorful. It's certainly not your typical burger place in LA (i.e., Pantry, Tommy's, Apple Pan, etc.), but it was quite good in our estimation. The downer of the restaurant was the atmosphere. You order from the bartender and then hope you have a table or countertop in which to eat it. For newbies like us, when we asked if we could get a table, the only response was, "You'll have to find it yourself."

Serious Cookies: Pistachio-Cherry Biscotti

Great recipe worth trying soon. I make a great holiday biscotti using cranberries and pistachios and then dip the ends in white chocolate. Red, white and the "snow-peak" of white -- it all says Christmas! (www.odetoeverythingfood.blogspot.com)

Colt Brennan Really Loves In-N-Out

I have lived in Southern California nearly all of my life, and "In-n-Out" is truly a wonderful place. You can even get your burger in a lettuce wrap (everything without the bun), but there's not a lot who really do that. There are always lines at every drive-in. And I have friends around the country that can't wait until they return home for one of these divine burgers.

favorite pumpkin recipe?

My favorite is "Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Loaf Cake," which I discovered in "Bon Appetit" a few years back. If you like pumpkin, and who doesn't like chocolate(?!), it's a win-win!

I posted the recipe on my blog: www.odetoeverythingfood.blogspot.com and you can also find it on: www.epicurious.com

In and Out is good, but the long lines look unattractive.
i would prefer Hinanos than in and out. too many kooks at In and Out..
but i do agree, good burgers for the price. the menu is simple and the employees are always hard at work....

Been in Colorado since '91, miss the Millridge Inn on Long Island and the Sirloin Tips in sauce. Don't need a knife...bit size morsels of tenderness!

My favorite cut is Porterhouse! So thick and juicy! If I were to win, I would truly feel fortunate!

Bone in cowboy rib eye. I've even had a bone in buffalo rib eye recently, to die for!

for me, there is nothing tastier than a ribeye, but I always order t-bone so my dog can have a nice bone too.

Call me a cheap date, but I prefer a sirloin.
But, I would not turn town a filet, either;)

I could go for a ribeye steak rolled in garlic butter...done rare! MMMmmm
