Dear Slice: 'Heading to NYC, and Pepe's in New Haven'
A few weeks ago, I stopped at Sally's while driving back from Boston to NYC, around 8pm on a Wednesday night. It was about half-full. The service was friendly, and not unpleasant. But the pizza... was superb. For two of us, we got a medium pie with mozzarella, and a medium eggplant parmesan pie (it was a special). Both were exceptionally delicious--if they have the eggplant pie, definitely get it--it's the best eggplant pizza you'll ever eat.
Dear AHT: Where to Get Kosher Burgers in NYC
Ben's Delicatessen (not glatt) on 38th St. between 7th and 8th Avenues in Manhattan makes a decent hamburger. Ben's Best Delicatessen (an entirely different establishment, also not glatt) in Rego Park, also makes a good burger.

As a recent transplant from Manhattan to Cherry Hill, Vito's is some of the best pizza I've found in the area. The eggplant parm sandwich is excellent. The cheese slice is decent, and the loaded slices (eggplant parm slice, ziti slice, etc.) are excellent for what they are.
