Served: A Great Plan that Never Takes Off

I'd like to point out that "transvestite" is a really offensive and antiquated term for people who very well may be transgendered and not drag queens or kings.

That being said, I'm not entirely sure a restaurant can strive to become a queer hotspot, I think it's something that just sort of happens as the community itself changes. Good on you guys for trying though, it is very well-meaning of you to be open to your entire community!

T he dark side of Trader Joe and cheap tomatoes

Yeah I'm not really buying CIW as being a "cartel" -- the fact of the matter is that (im)migrant workers of color are the most exploited workers in America. So yeah, it's a shame that people aren't agreeing to pay more for tomatoes. And let's face it, it's not like it's the workers fault or CIW it's our government's unwillingness to subsidize tomato production and drive the costs down (unless we could suddenly make sugar from tomatoes...). Honestly blaming the organized workers and not seriously calling our large corporations for abuse, as if tomato farmer or the CIW have any institutional power...lol.

Do You Have Any 'Once In A Wifetime' Recipes?

@Cornballer I don't understand your mean-heartedness! I just pointed out something. It's quite easy to make posts that target a large audience without compromising the quality of the information. Also it's at no expense to the poster. How does wording something "What are some of your favorite once in a lifetime recipes?" versus "What are some recipes your wife would kill you if you ate often because women police men's food choices also all men are married to women" effect the quality of the post?

And yeah, I do think everyone should feel welcome to talk about food, including queer people and people with multiple partner. That's what this site is about, isn't it?

Hmm, I'm wondering why this has to be written in such a hetero/sexist way? I mean I get that you find the pun cute but quite often these types of columns not only erase people with same-sex partnerships, it also constructs women as being borderline annoying and naggy (in a cute way, duh) which is sort of an icky stereotype, don't you think?

West Palm Beach, Fla. What to eat?

Hit up Howley's for hip diner food, Don Ramon's for tasty Cuban cuisine and if you're ever near lake worth/greenacres, do eat at Tacos al Carbon. So cheap and delicious.

Cook the Book: 'The Best Barbecue on Earth'

I'd travel to Korea 1st - mainly because I've heard the rantings and ravings about Southern BBQ for years and but Korean BBQ is a new idea (to me) and something that really intrigues me. I mean honestly, ribs are DELICIOUS.

Secondly I'd hit up the Deep South. I may live in Florida but we are in NO WAY the deep south! Sure we have our barbecue but from what I hear nothing can compare to visiting Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, ect.
