I'm vexed to find that Sette Osteria still has not made this list. It's one of the best pizza makers in town (though their restaurant is not pizza focused). Sette - R and Conn. Ave, NW.

Happy to see that neighbors of mine made the list with Big Bear. I've been patronizing this local spot for a minute or two - also try the grilled cheese - yum...

For those custard fans - hit The Dairy Godmother in Del Ray Alexandria, VA. Those who already know - know. Those who don't - should. A couple of friends use the moniker FOTD (pronounced pho-ta-da) which stands for the Flavor of the Day. Interesting flavors like Mozambique on graham crackers will leave you in bliss...

How could any D.C. restaurant list omit both of Michel Richard's gems? Central and Citronelle are must-eats in D.C.! And for gelato, Pitango in Logan Circle is also now a must. I agree with most of the other ones on this list though, yum. And Good Stuff Eatery is delish too, I almost forgot! Get a mini-moo sized milkshake, you'll be glad you did.

Annother favorite of mine is Dino's in Cleveland Park. Really delicious, authentic italian food, and a wine list that is 40 pages long.

The last time I was in DC a few friends and I went to Black Salt for dinner and it was one of the best dining experiences of my life. Pricey...especially on a student budget but worth the splurge.
