Home Slice: Making Homemade Stuffed-Crust Pizza
There are so many reasons this post makes me happy. Nicely done, sir, very nicely done. Nom.
Win Tickets to Carts in the Parc at the New York Wine & Food Festival
Matthew answered it for me: "Easy question. Big gay ice cream truck. Doug and Bryan are great people, and the salty pimp is delish. What else could I ask for?"

Serious Eats' Halal Cart-Style Chicken and Rice with White Sauce
So.... where's the lamb? Because, I mean really, that's the only thing I get at carts.
Think I could just sub in lamb chunks in place of the thighs?
Also, I think cinnamon is missing in the spice mix. But I'll give it a go as-is first time around. :)

Cook the Book: 'The Homesick Texan Cookbook'
jumping on the smitten kitchen bandwagon. i've made so many recipes of hers, and 99% of them are brilliant and delicious.
Win Tickets to the Edible Schoolyard Benefit at P.S. 216
Lately, it's only been herbs here on my windowsill. But I adore cherry tomatoes, ate them from the garden as a kid, and want to grow them!
Win Tickets to FRIED at the New York Wine & Food Festival
i've had some amazing fried chicken while living in new york. but, dare i say it, the stuff i crave is bojangle's.
Cook the Book: 'Home Made'
canning my own jams! and pickles!
Serious Entertaining: Omelettes!
I have no problem with the look, but I have bigger complaint about "ease." Of all the egg dishes I could make for a group, omelets are the last on the list. There are so many easier, delicious ways to feed a crowd and not make everyone their own personalized omelet.
And this is coming from a rather ambitious entertainer, who loves feeding people.
Cook the Book: 'Canal House Cooking Volume No. 6'
When I first moved to NYC, I fell head over heels in love with the Union Square farmer's market. Then I moved to Brooklyn and did the same with Grand Army Plaza and Fort Greene Markets.
But when I visited San Francisco last September, my first trip to the Ferry Building farmer's market was probably the most memorable. Seeing fresh, local oranges and lemons, avocados and figs, eating raw oysters by the water. Can't be beat.
Win Tickets to a Six-Course Dinner (With Pairings) at Empellón
Watermelon agua fresca, extra cold and delicious. Somehow, it just seems right.
lotsa cherries
Smitten Kitchen's brown butter cherry bars are AMAZING.
http://smittenkitchen.com/2009/06/cherry-brown-butter-bars-new-video-project/
They're like a tart in bar form, creamy and buttery, nutty and delicious. Not a cake, but a totally wonderful way to bake with fresh cherries.
Drink the Book: 'Jelly Shot Test Kitchen'
It was a layered gin sour shot (I think?). It had a layer of clear-ish gin and lime to make the sour mix flavors and a top layer of dark red, black cherry jello.
Cook the Book: 'Goat: Meat, Milk, Cheese'
herbed chevre and honey on bread or crackers. i can eat it all day long.
Cook the Book: 'Michael's Genuine Food'
Food that comes from the heart. Preferably from scratch. And altering as little as possible to get to the final dish.
Graziella's: Every Neighborhood Should Be So Lucky
And now I notice Kelly basically said the same thing, whoops!
Graziella's: Every Neighborhood Should Be So Lucky
Graziella's is a neighborhood joint for me, delivery more than anything. Thanks for the reminder. Except I can't escape my love of Il Porto's Granma pie when I want delivery pizza. It has a tight grip on my pizza heart.
Win Tickets to a Hot Pot Master Class
Yeah, not sure if I've ever had a proper hot pot! So I'd love to learn to make it myself. :D
Cook the Book: 'The Essential New York Times Cookbook'
The new Baked Explorations book is pretty much heaven. Also, not quite a book but Gourmet's release of fast recipes, the first magazine from them since ending, has become a staple since September.
Cook the Book: 'Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cookies'
my salty brown butter chocolate chip cookies!
Cook the Book: 'Avec Eric'
Can I explore all of Europe, please?
From learning about bangers and mash in London to homemade pasta in Italy, wines of France to the fetas of Greece, and onward. YUM!
Coffee Chronicles: Bedford Hill Coffee Bar
Bedford Hill is now my closest coffee shop and it's rather exciting. Ovenly's homemade cherry pop-tart is fantastic.
But, in regards to the slow climb out of deli hell, there are a few other places right around there that also help the climb - Nerodoro and Pilar Cuban Cafe (Greene/Classon, they're neighbors) both have decent cups of coffee. And hopefully, Scratchbread on Bedford and Lexington might open their walk-up window to coffee and bread lovers soon.
Cook the Book: Barefoot Contessa, 'How Easy Is That?'
Thai red curry butternut squash soup. Pureed, it's a rich and creamy soup with just a touch of coconut milk. With bread on the side, it's a filling and "impressive" dinner.
Cook the Book: 'The New Brooklyn Cookbook'
Hrmm... Chicago?
This Week at Serious Eats World Headquarters
Galco's! They were featured at the Food & Film Festival event at Water Taxi Beach, right? I love the gentleman's sheer enthusiasm for soda pop. It was adorable.
