Ok, I work at a local bar in a town of about 8,000 people in Maine. We, being the only bar in the area, generally collect all types of people from locals to tourists to very rich summer house owners passing through. I have learned in my line of work that patience is simply a necessity for the job. However in the dark back corner of my mind I've wanted to do practically everything shown in those videos, I laughed untill I cried on, That's Annoying!" because, trust me, when you have eight drink orders running through your head at one time your disposition towards distraction isn't very pleasant
.
Anyway, one of my favorite bar tending stories; I had this guy around twenty-four come up to the bar. He ordered a long Island Iced Tea which for some reason alot of people, who don't work in a bar just considers to be the best strong drink ever. I served him he's drink, he sips, looks up at me and claims this drink isn't strong enough. It's pretty hard to make a weak Long Island and I'm definetly not known for being a bartender that makes weak drinks. Trust me buddy it's plenty strong.
Apparently to prove his point he sucked his Long Island down in about fifteen minuets and came back up, in a slightly disoriented manner, to order another. Twenty more minuets pass and the same guy comes back up to the bar with a Allens, (Coffee Brandy) Sombrero, (With Milk.)
"This Long Island Iced Tea tastes just like coffee brandy," He states now rather intoxicated.
"That would be because it is, in fact, a coffee brandy. Would you like for me to dump that out and get you another Long Island?" I ask.
"Nope, I paid for it and I'm gonna drink it" He says stumbling away from the bar.
Shortly after someone came up and told me they lost their coffee brandy, I made them a new one, no charge.
