No Burger Bliss at Bohemia Bagel in Prague, But At Least the Fries Are Good
I studied abroad in Prague in 2000...probably three times a week we would take the tram or walk down the hill to the smaller Bohemia Bagel outpost (not the one off of Old Town Sq) for a tuna melt and some cheap internet surfing. Then we'd take the funicular back up Petrin Hill.
God I miss that place. The chili is pretty good too.

@milkyway; I couldn't even hear One Onion, or whatever he or she or it calls itself. I think it's the consequences of losing, and being part of a tiny minority in a tiny part of the world...they just don't get it.

@Oneiron...if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Do they have McDonald's/BK over there? I would be curious to see how those are...

A Bohemia Bagel breakfast sandwich (egg and cheese on mine, thanks), juice and a cup of coffee make for the perfect start to a day. Well, any day in Prague is a pretty good day, to be honest. But it's better with breakfast. We had our honeymoon in Prague and were a five-minute walk from Bohemia Bagel, so we went a lot.

I also studied in Prague and these fries were single-handedly responsible for my excessive weight gain... Delicious!! Also, the tomato soup is great.

I only got the burger once, because at about 7 bucks american, its a pretty astonomical price for a meal in prague.
And i do recall similar problems with the burger being overcooked. But i was smart enough to get some shrooms on the sucker...and substituting Biscuits and Gravy for fries was so money...
stick with the breakfast sandwich at Bohemia, and if you need a burger the other expat hangout Jama might be a better stop.

Oh Bohemia Bagel... Prague's greatest outpost of American capitalism, bringing bagels and free refills to Central Europe and brazenly owning the museum of communism. Awesome. As I recall, one of the locations has tex mex night on thursdays.
But if you want a real burger (or just generally a respite of Americanism, in a delicious and unobnoxious way) in Prague, you have to go to Restaurace Jama on V Jame, near Vaclavske Namesti. Mmmm, onion rings.

@raymondc: Not sure if this was what Ms. Yagoda intended, but when I read "unaccented English," I thought she meant English sans European/Czech accent -- the people who happened to be speaking it were Americans.
This was an ongoing joke between an old coworker and I when I worked at a drug lab -- we'd use my then bf, who was a tall, broad, dirty blonde all-American looking guy, as the front person in a burger joint in Thailand because it makes it *seem* more authentic to see an American greeting/up front at an American food establishment than any other nationality. My co-worker was a chef in Thailand and we always chitchatted about food and goofy ways to make money.
