Are You a Night Baker?
I am guilty of this, especially when I was sharing an apartment and didn't feel comfortable hogging the kitchen during sane hours. I still do it now that I live alone but work insane hours. When I was an undergrad, I would stress-bake at 2 AM while freaking out over the billionth Wallace Stevens paper I wasn't writing or whatever assignment I should've been doing instead. My roommates would usually wake up to a batch of cupcakes and a pie--an uptick in quantity would tip them off that it was mid-terms or finals and they'd commence their freak outs, too. I am probably responsible for at least three folks' "freshman 15" thanks to night baking.
The West Coast Pink Bakery Box Theory
Whoa, whoa, whoa. This is the first time I'm hearing about the Cambodian pink bakery box connection and as a first gen, this is THE COOLEST THING EVER.
However, though the white-for-mourning, pink-for-awesomeness thing is true, I can't recall any of the Cambodian-owned bakeries on the east coast carrying pink boxes. Just white.
Frozen Pea Pops for Kids
I would totally eat this! It reminds me of the popsicles from the Asian market my G-mom's partial to. Red bean (my favorite), green beans/peas, durian, jackfruit, and coconut were in heavy rotation in the freezer. I loved them with a freakish passion as a kid and still snag some when I visit. Mmm, frozen peas.

Ha! I love these. I had a Jolly Green Giant and a Morton Salt Girl in my group on Halloween, too. I dressed up as sushi. Super easy--white packing peanuts in a clear plastic bag, a dark green t-shirt cut into a band for the nori, a salmon-colored shirt, and a paper-and-fabric "soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger" brooch.
