Cook the Book: 'Gourmet Today'

Good old Betty Crocker! As a wedding shower joke my mom gave me her circa 1950's BC cookbooks. I really never used them, but I still keep them as they provide huge laughs. All they talk about is throwing classy themed dinner parties (make sure everyone has enough cigarettes!!!) and how to keep a husband (by greeting him at the door with a drink, a smile, and your lipstick on and hair done!). funny stuff.

Paradise Lost: White Diamond of Linden, New Jersey Is Closed

Love the Clark White Diamond. My husband took me there when I got my first apartment in Clark after college. The burgers were orgasmic. Truly. Haven't been there in over five years. Will go back soon to try them. Can you ever go back and have things as great as their memory?!?

Taco Bell's Volcano Taco with Lava Sauce Returns to Menus Nationwide

taco bell isn't that bad for fast food. I'll eat some of the items on the menu, I just make sure i don't get the sour cream. it doesn't taste that great and just adds calories. i still feel better (less full and gross) than when i eat at a "burger" joint. maybe once every two months.

From Serious Eats

Cook the Book: 'How to Roast a Lamb'

I'm an Aussie who misses weekly Sunday lamb roasts (so much more expensive over here and more of a hunt to get the right quality). However, when I do cook up a lamb roast I am 100% for simplicity - garlic and rosemary and lots of roasted veggies in the same pan to absorb the juices. I also like some simple jus or gravy from the juices at the end.
