Dear Cartoon Chef:
"Simmer till done"? Would that be "heated through," "cooked down to a soggy mess," or something else entirely?

Crispy, in small strips, sauteed with onion and tossed with egg and parmesan in a classic Spag Carb!
Kid is mopy after school. Dog tries to cheer him up by imitating an old granny farming rice. They eat beef-flavored potato chips together. Everyone is happy!
I'm not Japanese, though -- just lived there in the 80s.
I make this last Sunday, and it's not only incredibly good but also incredibly easy. One of the easiest dishes I've ever made. I used Italian sweet sausage and cooked it with the prunes until it was cooked through.

sweet sweet quinoa (although technically that's a seed, and not a grain. so if i were being technical, i'd say the humble yet delicious brown rice)
I just found out about quinoa, so I think that would be an interesting addition.
i'm eating some whole grain bread right now!
I buy nothing but whole wheat breads and cereal!
